'CSI' defeats Saturday 'Big Brother'

Five's screening of the crime drama averaged 1.71m (8.8%) between 9.10pm and 10.10pm, outdoing the 1.52m (7.8%) audience for the latest BB update. Big Brother did add a not-insubstantial 276k (1.8%) an hour later on Channel 4+1, however.
Earlier on Channel 4, a double-bill of ER logged 560k (3.3%) and 540k (2.9%) from 7.10pm. Five's episodes of The Guardian and NCIS managed 824k (4.9%) and 1.27m (6.9%) respectively from 7.15pm.
BBC Two's coverage of Live World Championship Athletics averaged 1.82m (12.1%) between 5pm and 8.45pm, then The Proms kept 1.17m (6.1%) until 10.15pm.
Total Wipeout brought in 4.23m (24.7%) to BBC One at 7.20pm, then The National Lottery: Guesstimation appealed to 3.94m (21.4%). The draw itself followed with 4.76m (24.8%), then a rerun of Outnumbered had 3.28m (16.9%).
ITV1's screening of King Kong averaged 2.29m (12.8%) between 6.55pm and 10.15pm.
Overall, BBC One averaged 21.8% during primetime, dwarfing ITV1's 12.1% share. BBC Two was third with 8.8%, followed by Five with 7.2% and Channel 4 with 4.9% (+1: 0.8%).
