Martin Freeman's episode of Who Do You Think You Are? performed well for BBC One last night, early viewing figures suggest.

The 9pm show, which was also the series finale, was seen by 6.02m (27.9%), making it the most-watched programme during primetime. Last week, Kim Cattrall's appearance brought in 5.87m (25.3%).

Its nearest rival, BBC Two's Dragons' Den pulled in 3.22m (14.9%), while Channel 4's Big Brother highlights managed 1.94m (9%), with a further 477k (3.1%) tuning in on timeshift.

ITV1's live coverage of the UEFA Champions League averaged 1.48m (7.5%) between 7.30pm and 10pm, while Five's Jean-Claude Van Damme film Inferno took 1.37m (7%) between 9pm and 11pm.

Earlier, at 8pm, the third episode of Location, Location, Location, had 2.98m (15.2%) for Channel 4, and 896k (4.6%) watched Five's Megastructures: Rocket Launch Demolition.

Over on BBC Two, the Athletics World Championships coverage logged 2.37m (15.8%) between 4.45pm and 9pm.

Wildest Dreams put in 2.84m (15.8%) for BBC One at 7.30pm, then the half-hour Seaside Rescue took 3.39m (16.8%) at 8.30pm.

Overall, BBC One came top during primetime with an average share of 21.6% to BBC Two's 13.3%. Channel 4 was third with 8.9% (+1: 1.3%), followed by ITV1 with 9.5% and Five's 5.4%.

Elsewhere, 231k (1.2%) tuned in at 9pm for the second part of BBC Four documentary The Cell.
