Chris Lilley, the creator and star of the hit 2007 comedy programme set in an Australian high school, hinted this week that his new series is finally ready after years of research and writing.
Lilley told News.com.au: "All I can say is that it is going to be happening pretty soon and it won't be long before everything is announced."
The ABC declined to comment on the format of the new show, so it is unknown whether the actor will revive award-winning characters Ja'mie, Mr G and Jonah. He has previously shown interest in revisiting his cop-turned-motivational speaker role Phil Olivetti from We Can Be Heroes.
