Recently launched Star TV is planning one hour per day of original local programming.
The network, which began in the UK via SkyDigital on January 14th, has commissioned UK Indies to produce quiz shows, talk and debate programmes, community showcases and a new breakfast show.
Vice President Arun Mohan said, "We have started conversations with three people who have already approached me within the three days I have been in the country." He added that the new shows could be on air as soon as June or July.
Star TV, a package of Star Plus and Star News, becomes encrypted on 14th March, and will be available for £14 / month. The network hopes to have 500,000 subscribers by this time next year.
