ITV today announced the longlist for the 15th National Television Awards, which sees Michael McIntyre receive his first ever nomination.

The comedian's Comedy Roadshow, which has reportedly been handed a second series, will be going up against Harry Hill's TV Burp and Gavin & Stacey in the comedy programme category.

The X Factor will once again compete against Strictly Come Dancing in the best talent show category and EastEnders and Coronation Street face off again for the serial drama gong.

Other names on the longlist include Piers Morgan, Phillip Schofield and Martin Clunes, who each have three nominations apiece across three different categories.

Additionally, a new star travel documentary award will see Joanna Lumley (The Land Of The Northern Lights) compete with Billy Connolly (Journey To The Edge Of The World) and Michael Palin (Around The World In 20 Years).

The awards ceremony, traditionally based at the Royal Albert Hall, will take place at London's O2 arena in January. It will be broadcast live on ITV1, with Dermot O'Leary taking over as host from Sir Trevor McDonald.
