On Wednesday night, the illusionist correctly predicted all six lottery numbers and will reveal tonight on Channel 4 how he pulled off the stunt.
The most popular theory online is that Brown used split screens to deceive viewers. Fans have claimed that he may have used a pre-recorded shot of the lottery balls after he moved to the left-hand side to watch the live draw on a TV screen. It has even been claimed that at one specific point, the lottery balls can be seen moving upwards.
However, the method has been disregarded by some, who claim that it would have been impossible to perform such a stunt without a static main camera. The footage of Brown was shaky at certain moments during the live show.
Other theories suggested for the trick have included Brown using "e ink" on the balls, the filming of multiple versions of the show and false walls, while one viewer even proposed that he may have used "psychic fairies".
Derren Brown: How To Win The Lottery will air on C4 tonight at 9pm.
