'Criminal Justice' star panicked over role
Maxine Peake has said that she panicked when she won a role on BBC One's Criminal Justice.

Speaking to Radio Times, the 35-year-old former Shameless star admitted that she is completely different to her character Juliet.

"I panicked when I got the part," she said. "It's such a big departure for me. The first day I had to drive a posh 4x4 - my normal car is a battered Punto. When I first saw the Islington house Juliet lives in I felt giddy. Wow!"

She added: "That world wouldn't be my choice. I like something homely and real. We're more reserved in the North."

Criminal Justice returns for its second series Monday, October 5 at 9pm.
