1.8 million get 'Naked' with Gok Wan

The new series of How To Look Good Naked opened to a low audience for Channel 4 last night, according to early viewing figures.

The fifth series of the Gok Wan-fronted reality series pulled in 1.78m during the 8pm hour, coming fourth in its timeslot and drawing the lowest ever audience for a series opener of the show.

Last year, the series four opener was seen by 2.63m (10.54%) on Tuesday, April 8; 3.36m (14.3%) tuned in on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 for the start of series three; and series two premiered to 2.5m (10.9%) on Tuesday, May 1, 2007.

Naked was beaten by Holby City, which logged 5.55m (24.2%) for BBC One, ITV1's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? which had 3.27m (14.2%), and MasterChef: The Professionals, which was seen by 2.91m (12.7%).

The penultimate episode of Five's Warship managed 1.3m (5.7%).

Crimewatch won the 9pm hour, bringing in 3.81m (16.8%) for BBC One. Its nearest rival, ITV1's The Fixer, logged 2.81m (12.4%).

Also at 9pm, Jamie's American Roadtrip interested 2.1m (9.3%) for Channel 4, 2.26m (10%) tuned in for CSI: Miami on Five, and The Choir - Boys Don't Sing Revisited attracted 2.59m (11.4%) to BBC Two.

Overall, BBC One dominated primetime with an average share of 23.4% to ITV1's 14.9%. BBC Two was third with 9.8%, followed by Channel 4 with 6.8% (+1: 1%) and Five's 6.4%.

Over on the multichannel stations, the latest episode of Jack Osbourne: Adrenaline Junkie took 362k (1.7%) for ITV2 at 9pm, and the 10pm screening of Charlie Brooker's Gameswipe grabbed 361k (2.2%) for BBC Four during the 10pm hour.
