The new eight-part series, co-produced by Ant and Dec's production company Gallowgate, will transmit early next year.
Five’s head of entertainment Donna Taberer, said: "I'm delighted to add Name That Tune to an already rich mix of entertainment programmes on Five.
"It is a slickly updated series for a modern audience with a brand new look and feel, but has at its heart the key game play that has made the show a global success for the last five decades."
She added: "This is peak time entertainment for a sophisticated 21st Century audience. It has fabulous production values, tension, excitement, celebrity and is full of surprises. It’s Five’s first big-budget, musical entertainment series, and I’m thrilled to have it."
The series originally ran between 1983-1987 on ITV, then returned for a short-lived remake on Five in the 1990s. ITV revived it briefly for Vernon Kay’s Gameshow Marathon in 2007.
