Comedy Central nabs '30 Rock' from Five

Comedy Central has secured the exclusive basic cable rights to 30 Rock from NBC Universal Television Distribution, it has been announced.

The Tina Fey-fronted comedy series, which previously aired on Five, will form part of the broadcaster's autumn lineup later this year as a UK exclusive.

Comedy Central's Jill Offman commented of the acquisition: "30 Rock is considered the best comedy on TV so it fits perfectly with our other award-winning shows like South Park, Two And A Half Men, The Sarah Silverman Program and The Office.

"Our team is passionate about it, we feel we can do a lot with it and it cements our reputation as the home of the best modern comedy on television."

30 Rock will begin airing on Comedy Central on Monday, October 5 at 10pm.
