Rex Features
The hour-long project, a stand-up format titled Comedy Exchange, is being eyed for an early 2010 broadcast.
Through the show, Jupitus, a panelist on Never Mind The Buzzcocks, will go head-to-head with Flight Of The Conchords's Eugene Mirman as they are challenged to trade countries, career and cohorts to see if they can cut it in a new comedy culture.
Dave's Steve North said of the commission: "As the official home of witty banter, it's tremendously satisfying to see our ambitious commissioning strategy evolving the world of stand-up further with the innovative Comedy Exchange."
