PPV Rights: ONdigital to win?
Published Saturday, Feb 3 2001, 14:39 GMT | By Neil Wilkes
ONdigital has now emerged as the favourite to win the Pay-Per-View package of football rights from the Premier League.
According to the Financial Times, the digital terrestrial broadcaster has offered a "more realistic" price for the 40 games than ntl, and has also bid for a number of "rights subpackages".
The League has also decided against accepting a bid from main package holder BSkyB to avoid legal complications from European competition bodies.
A final decision is expected within the next few weeks.
