The TV host, who is best known for fronting Channel 4's The Sunday Night Project, hinted that his new two-year deal with Five could be his last.
Speaking to the Daily Record, the 35-year-old explained: "I am not so in love with this job that I just want to carry on doing it forever. The money is nice and I enjoy what I do. But family is more important - and so too is my health.
"I suffer from psoriasis, a skin condition, and that gets better when I'm not working. It's the reason I've still got such long hair and a thick beard. Some people think it's a fashion statement, and I suppose it has become that."
He continued: "I am serious about retiring in a few years. If at the end of two years with Five I am still enjoying myself, then I may think again and carry on. But I definitely plan to get out earlier than some people."
Collins recently announced that he is to release an album of original lounge music.
