Hollander for BBC's 'Handle With Prayer'

BBC has commissioned a new comedy series called Handle With Prayer, it has been announced.

The six-part series, created by James Wood and Tom Hollander, follows the daily frustrations of Rev. Andrew Smallbone (Hollander), a C of E vicar who has recently moved to Kennington in South London.

"We're thrilled to be working with Big Talk on Handle With Prayer," said controller of comedy commissioning Cheryl Taylor.

"It's a distinctive script with the brilliant Tom Hollander in the lead and promises to be a hilarious portrayal of the many challenges facing the modern clergy."

Production on the series is scheduled to begin in January.
