Peter Andre show drops below 1m mark

Peter Andre: The Next Chapter dropped below the 1m mark last night for the first time since the series started.

According to overnight viewing figures, 962k (4.5%) tuned in on ITV2 last night during the 9pm hour, still making it the most-watched programme on the multichannel stations. Earlier this month, the series opened to a respectable 1.44m (6.7%).

Later on ITV2, 580k (3.5%) watched Fearne And... Peaches Geldof.

Elsewhere, Channel 4's Cutting Edge film Katie: My Beautiful Face performed well, drawing 3.1m (13.7%) during the 9pm hour. Earlier on the channel, Location, Location, Location put in 1.87m (8.2%).

Big, Bigger, Biggest and Vice Squad managed 713k (3.1%) and 670k (2.9%) for Five at 8pm and 9pm respectively.

Over on BBC One, 4.23m (18.4%) watched Watchdog at 8pm, then the audience climbed to 4.77m (21%) during the 9pm screening of New Tricks.

BBC Two's The Restaurant opened to 1.92m (8.3%) at 8pm, then 790k tuned in for Defying Gravity.

The Bill, which aired at 9pm, put in 3.97m (17.5%) for ITV1.

Overall, BBC One pipped other channels to primetime victory with an average share of 23.4% to ITV1's 21.5%. Channel 4 was third with a higher-than-usual 9% (0.9%), followed by BBC Two with 4.7% and Five's 2.9%.
