Richard Standing, aka Coronation Street's Danny Hargreaves, is to leave the long-running soap.
After almost two years playing the character, Standing will leave in late Spring to pursue other projects.
"The programme is so much bigger than any of the individual cast," he told Teletext. "It's like a heritage machine that has lasted so long."
