Alesha Dixon boosts Fearne Cotton show

Alesha Dixon's appearance on Fearne Cotton's ITV2 show helped to boost its ratings, overnight viewing figures show.

Fearne And... Alesha Dixon pulled in 696k (4.2%) during the 10pm hour - a new high for the series.

Earlier on ITV2, Peter Andre: The Next Chapter drew 1.18m (5.5%), topping last week's series low of 962k (4.5%).

Also on the multichannel stations, Russell Howard's Good News put in 753k (5.2%) for BBC Three at 10.30pm, pulling in over twice as many viewers as the opening episode, which took 371k (2.2%) Thursday, October 22.

Elsewhere, 3.7m (16.1%) tuned in for Watchdog on BBC One at 8pm, then New Tricks drew 4.98m (21.8%).

BBC Two's The Restaurant had 1.78m (7.8%) at 8pm, 760k (3.3%) watched Defying Gravity at 9pm, and Wonderland put in 1.03m (4.9%) between 9.45pm and 10.30pm.

Location, Location, Location managed 1.98m (8.7%) for Channel 4 during the 8pm hour. The Schoolboy Who Sailed The World followed, bringing in 1.08m (5%) between 9pm and 10.40pm.

Five's coverage of Everton's game against Benfica in the UEFA Europa League averaged 1.26m (5.7%) between 7.30pm and 10.30pm.

Over on ITV1, the 9pm screening of The Bill logged 4m (17.5%).

Overall, BBC One came top during primetime with an average share of 23.3% to ITV1's 22.2%. Channel 4 was third with 5.6% (+1: 0.8%), followed by BBC Two's 4.9% and Five's 4.8%.
