A planned appearance by Robbie Williams on Loose Women has led to a ticket uproar after the show's original audience was apparently ditched for fans of the star.

Williams, 35, confirmed on his fan club website that he will be the guest of honour in an hour-long special of the ITV1 chatshow tomorrow.

Original audience members were told less than a fortnight ago that they could no longer attend due to "reasons beyond the channel's control", reports The Sunday Mirror.

One woman who phoned to complain claimed that she was told it was a condition of Williams's contract that the audience be filled with fans.

An ITV spokeswoman said that producers felt an audience of Williams's followers would make for a "better atmosphere", adding: "We're sorry for any disappointment felt by audience members originally booked to attend the show."
