E4 commissions 'PhoneShop' to series

The pilot for the show, which is due to air tonight at 10.05pm, focuses on the everyday lives of the employees of a mobile phone shop.
Head of E4 Angela Jain said of the commission: "I absolutely loved the pilot of PhoneShop when I first saw it. I laughed out loud so I am delighted to have a full series in the pipeline for E4 - everyone has a mobile phone these days - and most of us have worked in shops trying to sell stuff so it's rich pickings in comedy terms.
"It's yet another example of the cross fertilisation between Channel 4 comedy commissioning, and E4, the genesis of both Fonejacker and School of Comedy."
She added: "E4 is racking up an enviable reputation for top quality comedy and PhoneShop will continue to do that."
PhoneShop will begin airing in 2010 on E4.
