The actor will also appear for the final time as the Time Lord in a two-part episode of Doctor Who over the festive season, after announcing his departure from the BBC One show last year.
Viewers will have a further chance to catch the 38-year-old as he stars in the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Hamlet on BBC Two.
