Britton 'happy with This Morning pay'

Fern Britton has denied suggestions that she fell out with her former This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield over pay.

The presenter left the ITV1 show earlier this year after ten years of fronting the programme.

Britton told The Times: "Fall out with Phillip? No. Was he being paid more than me? I don't know, because who discusses contracts?

"I do know that I was being paid very well and I was completely satisfied with what I was getting. It was a lot of money. Yes; it was a lot of money.

"And if men are being paid more than women at ITV well that's ITV's problem and they must start to sort out their sexual equality there. I mean, that's not good."

Of her replacement Holly Willoughby, she added: "She's doing fine. It's a programme that is huge. She's very young. She'll grow and get such experience from it that she'll be able to handle anything after this. And she looks ravishing."
