'Desperate Housewives' a hit down under

The show is the number one new series in the States this season and recently impressed UK audiences with a debut of 5 million viewers.
Almost 2.5 million viewers - 60% of whom were women - tuned in for the premiere episode in Oz on Monday, making it one of the highest-rated drama debuts in Australian history.
