Martin: 'Somers is too old to be on TV'

The variety show, which will return to screens regularly from February 2010 after 10 years off air, will still feature Somers and the rest of the original lineup.
Martin told marketing blog Mumbrella that althought the programme would "work every Saturday night... you'd have to revamp it. And maybe Daryl ought to pass on the baton to someone younger."
It is believed that Somers will continue to front the show despite recent rumours that chatshow host Rove McManus was being lined up to take over.
Two recent 'test' episodes of the show achieved huge ratings, averaging at 2.2 million viewers.
