'Gavin & Stacey' drops to 5 million

'Gavin & Stacey' drops to 5 million

The second episode of Gavin & Stacey pulled in 4.96m (19.2%) for BBC One last night, early viewing figures show.

The show dropped around 670k on last week's series three premiere, which logged a decent 5.63m (22.3%).

Also on BBC One last night, Bang Goes The Theory: The Human Power Station and QI put in 2.64m (11.2%) and 3.58m (14.5%) at 8pm and 9.30pm respectively.

Over on BBC Two, The Restaurant took 1.65m (7%) at 8pm, then the audience dropped slightly to 1.6m (6.3%) during the 9pm screening of Natural World.

ITV1's I'm A Celebrity... put in a strong 8.37m (33.7%) between 8.30pm and 10pm.

River Cottage managed 2.56m (10.9%) for Channel 4 at 8pm, then 2.09m (8.4%) watched The Queen at 9pm.

Five's coverage of Fulham's game against CSKA Sofia averaged 1.18m (5%) between 7.30pm and 10pm.

Overall, ITV1 came top during primetime with an average share of 28.3% to BBC One's 20.1%. Channel 4 was third with 7.5% (+1: 0.7%), followed by BBC Two's 5.4% and Five's 4.3%.
