10.9m tune to BBC One on New Year's Eve

The channel's audience leapt by 2 million in the final five minutes of last year, with 10.88m (59.2%) watching at the crucial moment. Just 1.84m (10%) were tuned to ITV1 at the same time.
Overall, BBC One's New Year Live programme - presented by Myleene Klass - averaged 8.41m (48.9%) between 11.45pm and 12.15am. ITV News: Countdown To 2010, fronted by Alistair Stewart, averaged 1.86m (11%) between 11.35pm and 12.05am.
On BBC Two, Jools's Annual Hootenanny squared out to 2.84m (20.7%) between 11pm and 1.10am.
Earlier on New Year's Eve, Top Of The Pops performed well for BBC One, with 4.78m (24%) in the hour from 6.30pm. A screening of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest averaged 3.74m (20.8%) from 8pm, and at 10.40pm, The Graham Norton New Year's Eve Show put in 4.18m (26.6%).
ITV1's Sleep With Me, an erotic psychological thriller starring Adrian Lester, appealed to 2.42m (14.1%) at 9pm, then a repeat of Ad Of The Decade interested 1.69m (10.7%).
Another screening of The Greatest Songs Of The Noughties had 1m (5.1%) for Channel 4 between 7.30pm and 9pm, then a countdown of Your Top 20 Celebrity Big Brother Moments took 700k (4%).
On BBC Two, screenings of Easy Virtue and The Painted Veil drew respective audiences of 1.34m (6.8%) and 1.71m (10.1%). In between the movies, a classic episode of Dinnerladies was seen by 1.5m (7.8%).
Five's screening of White Hunter, Black Heart had 411k (2.1%) from 6.50pm, then at 9pm, a rebroadcast of Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Concert pulled in 608k (3.6%).
Overall in primetime, BBC One averaged 24.4% to ITV1's 20.1%. BBC Two was third with 8.5%, followed by Channel 4 with 4.6% (+1: 0.5%) and Five with 2.8%.
