Robson Green gives up on US dream

Wire in the Blood actor Robson Green has admitted that he struggled to find fame in the US.
The actor has now decided that he doesn't want to make it onto US television.
Green told The People, "People are always saying to me, 'Are you going to America?' Well, I've been to America.
"I don't want to go over there and spend the next 10 years working for f*** all and bad scripts. It would be utter madness, especially when you've got a family to think about.
"You're not paid a lot in America you know, not initially on TV anyway. I get paid a lot more over here for what I do."
Robson auditioned for a part in Tomb Raider II, but his big chance to impress turned into a disaster.
He explained, "There's a tricky scene with Angelina where a pod fails and I just started giggling. But the director didn't think it was funny and that was that really. It was a disaster.
"I did the reading well but the physical side wasn't good. Half-way through the audition I thought, 'There's no point in me being here' because the director wanted me to do 50 press ups to 'energise'.
"I thought, 'F*** off, if you don't think I can cut it in front of the camera, forget it'.
Green's crime drama Wire in the Blood returns to ITV1 tomorrow night.
