Ross announced last week that he will not renew his contract with the BBC when it expires in July.
According to Metro, Evans told The Andrew Marr Show: "I would be lying if I said that if I was offered it I would say no, but I don't think I will be offered it."
He added that Ross's departure from the broadcaster was "inevitable" following his suspension in October 2008 for leaving obscene messages on the answerphone of actor Andrew Sachs.
Graham Norton is one of the favourites to take over Ross's Friday night programme, with Mark Lamarr and Mark Kermode tipped to take over his Radio 2 and Film slots respectively.
