According to The Mirror, the broadcaster upped the wages of the Location, Location, Location pair from £300,000 to £400,000 after the BBC tried to entice them to switch channels.
Channel 4 features commissioning editor Andrew Jackson said: "We are absolutely chuffed to bits to have secured them again after a tussle with the BBC."
An insider claimed that Channel 4 was upset by the BBC's "aggressive" tactics in trying to hire the pair.
They added: "It is frustrating the BBC is driving up the cost of talent. Perhaps they should try to develop some of their own instead."
