Sky Movies at the Academy Awards

By
The film awards carnival is open for business and the world's movie-makers
have already spent the last few weeks queuing on red carpets and dodging
packs of journalists.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has presented its awards, lending
momentum to the marketing of several winners. The British Academy made its
play for greater prominence, shifting its ceremony from after the Academy
AwardsÒ to the month before. Patterns are already emerging, with Erin
Brockovich, Traffic, The Contender, Gladiator and Crouching Tiger, Hidden
Dragon all attacking on multiple fronts.

As for the biggest jamboree of them all, no-one knows who'll be walking home
clutching a fistful of golden statuettes. The 73rd Annual Academy Awards
plays on Sky Premier live from 02.00 on Sunday 25 March.

The only place where film fans can see the winners, guaranteed, is on Sky
Movies. Sky Cinema is carrying two days of award-winning movies across the
big weekend. But the contenders are not limited to one channel. Russell
Crowe, Tom Hanks, Ellen Burstyn and company appear in movies across February
and March on every Sky Movies channel.
