BBC Three's new series I Believe In... got off to a good start last night, early ratings figures show.

The first episode, which followed the ex-EastEnder as he set out to encounter a ghost, pulled in 479k (1.9%) during the 9pm hour.

Also on the multichannel stations, Coming Of Age logged 521k (3%) for BBC Three at 10.30pm, and the latest episode of 90210 grabbed 344k (1.3%) for E4.

Elsewhere, Match Of The Day Live was the most-watched programme during primetime, drawing 7.31m (28.8%) for BBC One between 8pm and 10pm.

Over on BBC Two, 3.72m (14.9%) watched The Hairy Bikers: Mum Knows Best at 8pm, then How The Earth Made Us opened to 3.45m (13.3%) during the 9pm hour.

ITV1's Send In The Dogs took 2.92m (11.7%) at 8pm, then 2.92m (11.3%) tuned in for Piers Morgan On Shanghai at 9pm.

How To Look Good Naked... With A Difference and Gordon's Great Escape had 2.03m (8.1%) and 1.72m (6.6%) at 8pm and 9pm respectively, then the latest from the Celebrity Big Brother house put in 2.82m (15.3%).

Ice Road Truckers drew 1.2m (4.8%) for Five at 8pm, then the audience climbed to 2.41m (9.3%) during the 9pm screening of CSI.

Overall, BBC One dominated primetime with an average share of 28.4% to ITV1's 14.1%. BBC Two was third with 9.8%, followed by Channel 4 with 8% (+1: 0.8%) and Five's 5.6%.
