'Fame Academy's Park slams Patrick Kielty
Published Saturday, Mar 12 2005, 14:56 GMT | By Daniel Kilkelly
Fame Academy headmaster Richard Park has criticised the show's host, Patrick Kielty, describing his presenting skills as "sub-standard".
Park and Kielty regularly clashed throughout Fame Academy's second run in 2003, and their animosity even spilled over onto the recent celebrity version for Comic Relief.
Their on-air arguments usually centre around Kielty's defence of the contestants after they have been criticised by Park.
"I work extremely hard at trying to blot him out," Park told Xfm. "His performance has been sub-standard - I don't think we'll be seeing him on BBC screens again."
However, Park has failed to impress BBC executives himself, after making a rude gesture at Kielty before the watershed on a recent episode of the show.
