'Shameless' returns to 3.4 million

The first episode of the seventh series, which aired during the 10pm hour, drew 3.36m (17.7%) and 273k (2.7%) on timeshift. The next episode followed on E4 at 11pm with 702k (7.2%).
Earlier on Channel 4, How To Look Good Naked and Celebrity Big Brother put in 1.51m (6.2%) and 2.95m (11.9%) at 8pm and 9pm respectively.
Over on BBC One, Holby City logged 5.95m (24.3%) at 8pm, then the audience dropped to 3.61m (14.6%) during the 9pm screening of Survivors.
BBC Two's Hairy Bikers: Mum Knows Best had 3.3m (13.5%) at 8pm, then How Earth Made Us grabbed 3.1m (12.5%) during the 9pm hour.
Send In The Dogs attracted 2.94m (12%) to ITV1 at 8pm, then Amanda Holden's Fantasy Lives took a disappointing 2.48m (10%) at 9pm.
Five's Ice Road Truckers managed 1.52m (6.2%) during the 8pm hour, then 2.41m (9.7%) tuned in for CSI during the 9pm hour.
Overall, BBC One dominated primetime with an average share of 22.5% to ITV1's 13.4%. Channel 4 was third with 9.4% (+1: 0.8%), followed by BBC Two with 10.1% and Five's 6%.
