'Lost' returns to Sky1 with 830,000
The return of Lost for its final season was a ratings success for Sky1 last night, according to early figures.

The first two episodes of season six, which revealed what happened after Juliet attempted to detonate the bomb, pulled in audiences of 830k (3.4%) and 728k (3.7%) from 9pm.

However, Lost was beaten in the 9pm hour by ITV3's repeat of Doc Martin, which claimed 969k (4%).

Elsewhere last night, the latest episode of ITV1's Popstar To Operastar, during which Danny Jones was voted off, put in 3.76m (15.6%) in the 9pm hour. Earlier on the channel, 2.66m (10.9%) tuned in for update programme Dancing On Ice Friday at 8pm.

BBC One's QI had 4.28m (17.1%) opposite Corrie at 8.30pm, then at 9pm, Silent Witness won its slot with 5.32m (21.9%) across the hour.

Mastermind and An Island Parish delivered 2.57m (10.5%) and 1.82m (7.3%) for BBC Two in the 8pm hour, after which documentary Empire Of The Seas: How The Navy Forged The Modern World averaged 1.99m (8.2%).

The latest episode of Relocation: Phil Down Under took 1.92m (7.8%) for Channel 4 at 8pm, with a further 299k (1.2%) on timeshift. At 9pm, Gordon Ramsay's Cookalong USA logged a disappointing 736k (3%).

Five's Killer Amazon Bats appealed to 580k (2.4%) at 8pm, then a screening of Fun With Dick And Jane had 912k (4%).

Overall, BBC One managed a narrow victory in primetime, with an average share of 22.7% to ITV1's 22.1%. BBC Two was third with 7.7%, followed by Channel 4 with 5.1% (+1: 0.7%) and Five with 2.8%.
