A new ITV show will see footballers' wives and girlfriends being put to the test on the soccer pitch, according to The Mirror today.
The planned series, called The Beautiful Game, will follow eleven real-life footballers' wives as they are trained to be footballers themselves. Once the training stage is over, the ladies will play a team of German footballers' wives and girlfriends in a match at the new Wembley Stadium.
"All these women ever seem to do is shop," a source told the newspaper. "It would be great to take them out of their normal world and let them experience what their other halves go through every week. Not only would they get fit, it would mean they would understand their man's profession like never before.
"And hopefully their fellas will be shouting them on from the sidelines."
