The 'Red Faces' segment of the variety show, which sparked outrage last year for featuring a sketch where stars coloured their faces black, is apparently undergoing an overhaul with more people taking part and more prize money.
Host Daryl Somers told AAP: "Red Faces is all about putting your tongue firmly in your cheek and giving us the most absurd, but hilarious, act you can think of.
"We've always offered prize money, but now the stakes are higher - $2,000 (£1,200) for the winner, $1,000 (£600) for second and $500 (£300) for third. This means, everyone's a winner... even the loser."
Auditions for the show will be held from March 20.
