Exclusive: 'Secret Diary' cast unsure over fourth run

Ashley Madekwe has admitted that the cast of Secret Diary of a Call Girl are not sure if a fourth series will go ahead.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, the actress - Bambi on the series - said that she would be happy to continue with the show if it is recommissioned.

"We haven't really spoken about a fourth season yet. I think the producers all really love it and it's like their baby," she said. "They definitely believe in it and the cast enjoy doing it so if it worked out we'd probably all be there."

Madekwe added that if the show were to continue, she would like to see the plot "veer even further away from the client and prostitute relationship".

"There's only so many times we can watch Billie have weird sex with weird men! In order for the show to continue to be interesting and fresh it would have to delve deeper into her life and away from the business. I think that's where the real Belle de Jour went eventually."

Billie Piper recently told DS that she is not sure the story can continue after three series.
