The comic, who will perform his own version of Cheryl Cole's 'Fight For This Love' tonight, compared the atmosphere backstage to the final day of school.
"We're giddy. It's like the last day of term. We're in the final now. It's prize-giving day. We don't care who wins. We get to bring in games," he told DS.
"I've worked out that it's not that I don't care if I win - it would be lovely to win - but I just wouldn't be heartbroken if I lose."
Joking about the popularity of his dance routine, Hound said: "It helps that I'm naturally built, very physically similarly to Cheryl. I think a lot of the work has been done genetically."
The Let's Dance For Sport Relief final airs today at 7pm on BBC One.
