The comedian topped the public vote with his performance of Cheryl Cole's 'Fight For This Love', beating Katy Brand's rendition of Beyoncé's 'Single Ladies'.
"This defines mystery," Hound joked, before thanking the choreographers who had taught him the dance. "It's not easy to get a fat lad to move like this so they've got a heck of a job."
Earlier, former champion Robert Webb described his dance as "more compelling and watchable than Cheryl Cole". Judge John Culshaw said that it was "deeply moving", while Jack Dee called it "world-class", adding: "You've given us our mojo back."
EastEnders star Cheryl Fergison was unable to dance after pulling a muscle during rehearsals, but remained in the competition and her dance from the heats was broadcast instead.
The other finalists were Debra Stephenson, Richard Arnold and Kate Garraway and the Grumpy Old Women - Lesley Joseph, Susie Blake, Linda Robson and Jenny Éclair.
