Speculation about Chiles's position on the programme began earlier this year when it emerged that the BBC was considering replacing the presenter with Chris Evans on Friday evenings.
Speaking to the News of the World, Chiles said: "All I want to do is host the show Christine [Bleakley] and I have worked so hard on from the start. Half of me does just want to [quit]. The other half is more cautious."
Chiles, who also hosts Match of the Day 2 and The Apprentice: You're Fired, added that he is currently in talks with ITV.
"There has been contact between them and my agent," he explained.
