Director George Lucas has announced that he is working on two TV series based on Star Wars.
This weekend he told an Indiapolis Star Wars Celebration III convention that he is working on a live-action series based upon the Star Wars universe. Taking place between the events of Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope, but will not focus on the movies' main characters.
He told a gathering of over 30,000 fans: "We want to write all the stories for the entire first season all at once. I'm going to get it started, and hire the show runners and all of that, then I'll probably step away."
Secondly, there is a half-hour animated series in the pipeline. Based upon a series of five-minute shows on the Cartoon Network, Clone Wars will follow Yoda, Obi-Wan and other Jedi as they battle the Republic.
Lucas again stated that he has no intention of filming any more movies in the franchise.
