The Simon Cowell-produced talent shows were beaten in the 'Entertainment' category by BBC Four's Newswipe With Charlie Brooker.
Louis Theroux defeated Talent judge Piers Morgan for 'Best Presenter'. Theroux won for his BBC documentary A Place For Paedophiles.
The title of 'Best Scripted Comedy' went to the BBC's The Thick Of It, beating out The Inbetweeners and Miranda. However, Inbetweeners writers Iain Morris and Damon Beesley picked up 'Best Comedy Writing'.
US drama Mad Men won in the 'International' category.
EastEnders was named 'Best Soap And Continuing Drama', and the BBC's The Street won in the category of 'Best Drama Series'.
