James Corden will work as an assistant manager at this year's Soccer Aid event.

The Gavin & Stacey star will be one of the celebrities taking part in the ITV1 charity football match, which is being organised by Robbie Williams.

All money raised at the event, which will take place at Manchester United's Old Trafford ground on June 6, will go to Unicef.

"I am so excited Soccer Aid is back. It will be a great time for football, with World Cup fever at boiling point," said Williams.

According to The Sun, Gordon Ramsay, boxer Ricky Hatton, comic Patrick Kielty, GMTV's Ben Shephard and Bradley Walsh have also signed up for the match.

It will be the third Soccer Aid event following successful matches in 2006 and 2008. The X Factor's Dermot O'Leary is tipped to host the TV coverage.
