7.5m tune in for Boyzone's Gately tribute

Boyzone's special tribute to Stephen Gately secured a decent audience for ITV1 last night, the latest viewing figures show.

The hour-long concert, which the boyband staged in honour of the late singer, drew 7.54m (27.9%) between 8.30pm and 9.30pm.

Dancing On Ice pulled in 7.96m (29.8%) at 7.15pm, then the results show, in which Danniella Westbrook was voted off, claimed 7.21m (27.7%).

Over on BBC One, Lark Rise To Candleford took 5.77m (21%) at 8pm, then the audience dropped to 3.35m (12.6%) during the 9pm screening of Seven Ages of Britain.

Tropic of Cancer put in 2.39m (8.7%) for BBC Two during the 8pm hour, then Wonders of the Solar System was seen by 3m (11.3%) at 9pm.

and The Restoration Man interested 2.05m (7.44%) and 2.03m (7.7%) for Channel 4 at 8pm and 9pm respectively.

Into The Blue attracted 1.5m (5.5%) for Five between 8pm and 10pm.

Overall, ITV1 came top during primetime with an average share of 24.4% to BBC One's 19.3%. BBC Two was third with 10.6%, followed by Channel 4 with 6.1% (+1 :0.6%) and Five's 5.8%.
