'Holiday' to be replaced?

The new series, Departure Lounge, will be a "back to basics" news and features show, which will air on Friday nights from July. The show will be based at Stansted Airport in Essex.
Knowles, who currently presents DIY SOS, told The Mirror, "I'm doing a new holiday show called Departure Lounge which will eventually take the place of the Holiday show.
"Most holiday programmes just show the attractions - but this one will be no holds barred. If there's a famine or crisis in a country we'll show that too. It's going to be great entertainment because it's on Friday nights and will be up against other prime-time shows."
A BBC spokeswoman explained, "If Departure Lounge is a great hit it could replace Holiday in the autumn schedule. We can't play Holiday all year round because viewers would get bored, they like a change."
