A new 24/7 reality network from Fox - the imaginatively named "Fox Reality Channel" - launches later today in the US.
The move comes shortly after the Fox broadcast network unveiled its new lineup of programming to air this autumn, a schedule that was totally devoid of any reality shows.
At launch, the network will reach 18.5m households. To put that into perspective, the total TV "universe" in the States as measured by ratings body Nielsen Media Research is 109.6m homes, with cable staples such as CNN carried in around 89m.
Calling the launch a "life-changing, earth-shattering, chill-inducing event," Fox Reality Channel said they will air a mix of reality reruns (Joe Millionaire, The Amazing Race and American Idol being among them) along with commentaries on current reality programmes.
