Brady appears as working mother Siobhan Dhillon in Mistresses but in Sky1's upcoming drama Strike Back she plays a politician's daughter who is taken hostage by Islamic terrorists.
"I loved just getting away from [Mistresses] completely," she told The PA. "If anything, my role in Mistresses is very different from anything I've ever done before. This was getting back to the kind of role I used to do before."
She continued: "I love playing people that are in this area, people that are in extreme situations, a lot of fear, a lot of danger, a lot of losing it, because the situation is so extreme. It's a great area to explore and to play so I just thought, 'Oh, good', because if anything the Mistresses role feels a little more about surface things than getting into good old situations."
However, Brady added that she is enjoying filming the next series of Mistresses.
"It's just nice to get back and work together because we have such a laugh," she said. "I think the stories will work this year - I know that I'm pleased with my story, very pleased."
Strike Back begins on Sky1 HD in May.
