2.8m turn out for 'Heston's Titanic Feast'

Heston Blumenthal's recreation of a meal themed around doomed ocean liner the Titanic was seen by around 2.8m viewers on Tuesday (April 20).

Heston's Titanic Feast, the latest episode in his themed series, brought in 2.35m (9.7%) to Channel 4 in the 9pm hour. A further 441k (2.4%) watched on timeshift.

Also in the 9pm hour, a new episode of CSI averaged 2.2m (9.1%) for Five, and on BBC Two, Great Ormond Street had 2.29m (9.5%). ITV1 pulled in 2.89m (11.9%) with The Bill, while BBC One delivered a slot-winning 4.2m (17.3%) with Traffic Cops.

Earlier, Holby City put in 5.9m (25.2%) for BBC One in the 8pm hour, topping the 3.29m (14.1%) for ITV1's Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Supersize vs Superskinny took 2.01m (8.6%) for Channel 4, and on BBC Two, Grow Your Own Drugs and The Delicious Miss Dahl averaged 1.39m (6.1%) and 1.42m (5.9%). Five's Cowboy Builders was seen by 1.31m (5.6%).

BBC One dominated primetime overall with an average share of 24.1%, leaps ahead of ITV1's 14.3%. Channel 4 was third with 8.3% (+1: 1.2%), followed by BBC Two with 6.5% and Five with 5.8%.

BBC Three's screening of Shrek 2 ranked as the most-watched multichannel programme of the day with 913k (4%) from 7.35pm. The channel also had success with Blood, Sweat and Luxuries, which was seen by 628k (2.6%) in the 9pm hour.

Elsewhere, The Vampire Diaries brought in 499k (2.1%) to ITV2 in the 9pm hour, and the latest episode of Stargate Universe notched up 421k (1.8%) for Sky1 at 8pm.
