The Packed To The Rafters actress, who pays Julie Rafter in the Channel 7 drama series, is up against stars such as Home and Away stalwart Ray Meagher, chatshow host Rove McManus and comedian Wil Anderson for the most prestigious prize at the Australian TV awards.
Gibney, who won the Gold Logie last year, told ABC: "I think I'm a bit of a roughie this year. I'm thinking Ray Meagher is going to win - and deservedly so... Ray is the sentimental favourite.
"I couldn't believe it when I heard he's never had a nomination. He's been around for 40 years and he's one of the nicest men in the business."
The ceremony takes place on Sunday evening.
