The three chefs - Byrne, Nancy Dell'Olio and Deborah Stevenson - tackled a set menu for 25 paying customers as part of the show's culinary challenge. Each celebrity then faced the customary score out of 100, decided by both the diners and host Marco Pierre White.
At the end of the night, Stevenson comfortably finished in first place with a final score of 65, with Byrne the runner-up after bagging 48 points. Dell'Olio came last with 43 points.
Having congratulated Stevenson, White then informed the remaining pair that he was discounting the points when it came to considering which of the two he would send through to the next round.
Conceding that it was a "tough decision", the host eventually declared Dell'Olio the victor - despite describing her as being the "most dangerous person" he had ever worked with in a kitchen. He told Byrne that he was regrettably sending him home, news the comedian accepted with a smile.
Meanwhile, Stevenson and Nancy Dell'Olio have both progressed to the semi-final.
Marco's Kitchen Burnout will continue next Friday at 9pm on ITV1.
