2.2m watch 'Derren Brown Investigates'

The first episode of new series Derren Brown Investigates was watched by almost 2.2m on Channel 4 on Monday, according to the latest viewing figures.

The factual programme, in which Brown investigates a variety of so-called spiritual phenomena, averaged 1.9m (10.4%) for Channel 4 from 10pm and 252k (2.8%) on timeshift.

Earlier on Channel 4, the finale of Young, Autistic and Stagestruck attracted a disappointing 510k (2.1%) in the 8pm hour.

On E4, Glee pulled in 1.2m (5.1%) in the 9pm hour and 352k (1.9%) on timeshift, slightly down on last Monday's combined audience of 1.7m.

BBC One's new reality format High Street Dreams, in which business experts mentor budding entrepreneurs, opened with 2.47m (10.3%) from 9pm.

The first part of ITV's new Wormwood Scrubs documentary about the notorious British prison averaged 5m (20.9%) for ITV1 in the 9pm hour.

FlashForward suffered a slight week-on-week drop of 60k on Five, with 1.48m (6.2%) tuning in from 9pm. However, the programme still beat Channel 4's Blitz Street, which pulled in 1.38m (5.8%) at the same time.

Earlier on Five, The Gadget Show suffered a week-on-week drop of 400k after attracting just 972k (4.1%) in the 8pm hour.

Overall, ITV1 averaged 25% in primetime compared to BBC One's 17.7%. BBC Two came in third with 9.4%, followed by Channel 4 with 5.6% (+1: 0.5%) and Five with 3.2%.
